Originally from Chicago, USA, Chantal Panozzo arrived in Switzerland in 2006, relieved to discover a country where people can actually pronounce her name. An award-winning copywriter and writer, Chantal divides her time between writing ads and writing articles. She is also at work on an international corporate drama, in other words, a memoir about her life abroad.

Chantal’s essays, articles, and music reviews have appeared everywhere from The Christian Science Monitor to Swiss News, where she writes the monthly “Expat Adventure” column. She has also served as a National Geographic Glimpse Correspondent, where she reported on the lack of cheddar in the land of cheese. Chantal has also been commissioned to write and perform a corporate soap opera by World Radio Switzerland, blogged about expat life for various clients, and recently received the Rosalie Fleming Memorial Humor Prize for her satire on the airline industry. Her essays appear in several best-selling anthologies.

As a copywriter, Chantal began her career at The Martin Agency and has since developed ad campaigns on two continents for clients like GEICO, NASCAR, Credit Suisse, and many more. Her work has been exhibited in the United States, the UK, and China and she’s been honored by D&AD, The Art Director’s Club of New York, Clio, and many more. She is a graduate of the VCU Adcenter and holds an MS in Mass Communications. She also has a degree in music from the University of Illinois.

In addition, Chantal has served as an adjunct professor at Virginia Commonwealth University where she taught copywriting.
